OUTFIT GUIDE #7 FOR SORORITY RECRUITMENT

What to wear? What to wear? What to wear?

Deciding what to wear to sorority recruitment can seem very overwhelming. You feel like you need to look your absolute best. You might even feel pressured to find the perfect outfits.

I am going to breakdown the basic guideline of what to wear for sorority recruitment.

The number one babe tip is to show off your personal style. Remember sorority recruitment is not about what labels you are wearing. The sorority members want to get to know you, and they want to see who you are!

I recommend going through your closet and picking out the clothes you feel the most confident in! Then, you can go shopping for the other pieces you need.

Everything in this post is from a store called Show Me Your Mumu. This store is definitely for the more boho girl. Some of the clothing is a little more on the expensive side, but it’s a great investment.

QUICK DISCLAIMER BEFORE WE GET INTO THE OUTFITS:

What you wear to sorority recruitment is different at every college.

Do you your research! Look at the Instagrams of sororities for your college and see what the sorority girls are wearing during recruitment. Also, many schools have an outfit guide that suggests what to wear for each round. This guide can be found on your college's Panhellenic site.

Some colleges are more preppy and others are more bohemian. It really all depends on the college.

However, don’t let a certain look sway you from wearing what you are most confident in! You don’t want to get an outfit and feel uncomfortable in it!

WEAR PIECES THAT YOU ARE MOST CONFIDENT IN!! Don’t forget to show off your personal style.

I always recommend that you start in your closet. See what you already have. Then if you are still missing pieces, go out to buy them. These outfits are for inspiration.

ROUND ONE.

Round One is all about first impressions.

This round is the most casual round! It’s also the longest round because you are visiting all the sororities. Make sure your shoes are broken in.

Read all about Round One HERE.

Girls during this round usually wear:

  • Dresses

  • Skirts

  • Shorts

  • Sets

  • Rompers

  • Sandals or booties -- I am loving the Flatform trendy -- you can also wear a fun tennis shoe. No running shoes or shoes you would play a sport in. I have a ton of looks on my Pinterest page.

LOOK #2.

REQUIRED T-SHIRT ROUND.

When everyone is wearing the same shirt, it is important to stand out.

Most girls will reach for their jean shorts. However, I highly recommend trying something else. Maybe a jean skirt or some fun jeans or a pair of shorts with a pattern.

Make sure to show off your personal style. Add jewelry. Add a fun shoe.

Just remember to not cut up your shirt. You can tie it up, but don't cut it!

  • Sandals -- no flip flops.

JUST AN FYI: Not all college have a require t-shirt round.

Jeans.

Pants.

ROUND 2.

There are less girls going to each sorority for Round Two. Make sure to show off your personal style. It's a great way to show the sorority the real you!

As you move through the rounds, they get more formal.

The overall vibe for this round is brunch with your girlfriends. Don't get worried about overdressing because it’s always better to be overdressed than underdressed.

This round is still rather long, so make sure you have comfortable shoes.

Girls usually wear

  • Dresses

ROUND 4.

Pref is the most formal round.

All the guides are saying girls wear a cocktail dress. However, we recommend that you wear something a little more formal than the rest of the rounds. It does not have to be expensive nor does the dress have to be knee length.

Don’t wear anything too tight.  N O  bodycon dresses.

Don’t wear heels  T O O  high. You are not at the club.

Don’t show too much cleavage. There are no boys to impress.

Some colleges have recommended colors to wear  O R  colors to not wear. Make sure to do your research before you get to sorority recruitment.

For example, most girls going through sorority recruitment at UGA wear black during Pref Round.
